2010 British Open Championship Set For July 15

The oldest of the four major championships in professional golf, the British Open Championships, is set to tee off this July 15 until July 18 at the Old Course in St Andrews, Fife, Scotland.

This will be the 150th anniversary of the tournament and the 139th Open Championship (it was not held for 11 years because of the WWII).

The Old Course at St. Andrews is popularly called the “Home of Golf” and the 2010 Open Championships will be 27th time it will be held there – the last two years, in 2000 and 2005 – was won by Tiger Woods.

However, the defending champion from 2009 for the Open Championship is Stewart Cink who won it in Turnberry.
